The Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards annually celebrates excellence in corporate films, online media productions, and documentaries. As the only corporate film festival in Cannes, a city renowned for its contributions to advertising and feature films, the event holds a unique position.
When it comes to corporate communication, tourism holds a significant place in the spotlight. Recognizing the importance of tourism videos in promoting destinations and experiences, the festival expanded its categories to include tourism-focused productions and has been an official member of the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT) since its founding year.
As we look ahead to the 15th edition of the festival, excitement grows. Filmmakers, creative agencies, and industry professionals from all over the world are invited to submit their entries by June 26th and compete for the coveted Dolphin Trophies.
We had the pleasure of speaking with Nina Strasser, the festival's manager, to gain insights into what participants can expect in the upcoming edition of the Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards.
What makes your festival a standout event for filmmakers and representatives from the tourism industry?
Established in 2010, the Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards have experienced continuous growth, evolving into one of the premier festivals dedicated to corporate media and documentaries. Securing a Dolphin Trophy at the Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards in the tourism film category not only serves as a prestigious endorsement, but also generates significant publicity and recognition for the respective region, city, or country. The Awards Days in Cannes offer great networking opportunities, lectures, an online media library, where visitors can watch all entered productions, and of course the awards ceremony in a scenic location directly on the beach.
What does being a CIFFT member represent for your festival?
CIFFT is very dedicated to the mission of acknowledging excellence within the travel video marketing industry. We at Cannes Corporate fully identify with that mission. Moreover, CIFFT offers good networking opportunities to its members during the events of the different participating festivals.
Looking ahead to the 2024 edition of your festival, what can participants expect?
This year we introduced the “Agency of the Year” Award and extended the category portfolio, especially for the Production Arts & Crafts categories. Those categories encompass the techniques, crafts and skills employed in the execution of film content and can be entered additionally to a corporate or documentary category. Besides that, we are looking forward to hosting the Awards ceremony again in Cannes in September to celebrate all the winners of this year’s edition in the beautiful surroundings of the Côte d’Azur.
