Tortosa, September 15th, 2023. The Terres Travel Festival and the Terres Check-In have unveiled this year's winners, marking another chapter in Spain's tourism and audiovisual landscape. This year's editions took participants on a remarkable journey through Spain, from Barcelona, Matamaro, and Lloret de Mar to Tortosa, between 12th and 15thSeptember. These events not only recognized exceptional audiovisual productions but also featured an exceptional blend of professional and cultural activities.
On 15th September, the winners of the Terres Travel Festival were given to know at the enchanting city of Tortosa. The series “The Neverending Tourists (Series)” (South Africa), produced by King James and Eyeforce for Wesgro, was acclaimed by the jury with the coveted Grand Prix, along with a Gold Award in the Tourism Destination Region Category. The documentary “Slovenia Green” was recognized as the Best Short Film and took home the special award Terres De L’ebre - Best Film Promoting Sustainability.
In the Tourism Destination City category, “Madrid is Chulo” took home a Gold Award, while the series “Finding Encanto” (Colombia) secured a Gold Award in the category Tourism Destination Country. “Delicious Valencia - Eternal and seasonal” received a Gold Award in Tourism Products / Gastronomic Experiences and Enotourism, while “Lower Silesia - find your way” (Poland) received a Gold Award in Tourism Products / Adventures and expeditions and “Catalonia is appetising” (Spain) received a Gold Award in Tourism Products / Rural Destination.
The festival also featured the Terres Sustainable Tourism Day, with conferences and case studies on projects that work on the audiovisual side of sustainable tourism. Distinguished representatives from organizations like the Unesco Green Citizens, the Slovenian Tourist Board, Procolombia, and Guindala Production shared their insights and experiences.
Apart from the awards, the festivals’ program was an immersive celebration of culture. Attendees participated in enriching film screenings, talks, complemented by city tours, gastronomic experiences, and several visits to local organizations in the tourism and audiovisual sectors.
The Terres Check-In - International Hospitality Film Festival, held on September 13th in Lloret de Mar, offered an enlightening experience with a series of lectures and case studies on new trends in tourism and hospitality promotion, culminating in an Award Ceremony that celebrated the best audiovisual productions from the Hospitality industry.
Winners standouts included "Dalí Cibernètic" (Spain), which received the Gold Fast Check-In Award, and "Hotel Stories. Concept Hotel Group 2023" (Spain) and "Trailer Documental ElBulli Foundation," sharing the spotlight with Gold Late Check-Out Awards. The promotional video “NewHandLab, a sould made of wool” received a Gold in Social Check-in.
Further, “Book your Happiness” (Palladium Hotel Group) was recognized with a Gold in Accommodation, while “Because you never came back the same” (Only YOU Hotels) secured a Special Mention. “Fly & Feel the Rush of Historic Places - Sydsjalland (Denmark)” took home a Gold in Museums, “Vilamoura Nautical Station” received a Gold in Transport.
Terres Check-In is a collaborative initiative by Terres Landscape and Travel Communication and the esteemed Catalan foundations CETT, Climent Guitart, and Jordi Comas Matamala.
Since 2019, the Terres Travel Festival has been a member of the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals, and part of the biggest competition for tourism videos alongside other international corporate and tourism film festivals.
