Founded in 2019, the International Tourism Film Festival Africa (ITFFA) is the first and unique award initiative dedicated to Tourism Films and Travel Videos in the African Continent.
The festival intends to honour tourism audiovisual productions with exceptional and innovative content created today on all continents, being seen and used on various platforms.
TV ads, promotional films, video campaigns, social media videos, video blogs, documentaries, reports and other audiovisual formats related to the promotion of tourism destinations, products and services are invited to participate. The films are evaluated by an International Jury, composed of professionals who are references in the Marketing, Tourism and Audiovisual sectors.
Since its inception, the ITFFA has attracted the attention of creative agencies, filmmakers and tourism boards from Africa and around the globe, who submit their films intending to take home a prestigious award.
In co-operation with the International Tourism Film Festivals Committee (CIFFT), ITFFA aims to contribute to stimulating the development and growth of the national and African audiovisual industry and, at the same time, to give visibility and recognition to the best tourism films and travel videos worldwide.
For Alexander V. Kammel, CIFFT Director, “More than 3500 films compete each year for the title of the World’s Best tourism Films. African countries are underrepresented. The last African winner was the video “Tanzania, Authentic Africa” from the Tanzania Tourism board in 2004 and 2010 “Gorongosa National Park: Africa’s Lost Eden” from Gorongosa Restoration Project, which was among the nominees. It is time to show that Africa is full of talented men and women to be presented to the global creative community. This is why CIFFT strongly supports the ITFFA initiative”, said.
