During its long journey to the Black Sea, the Danube River passes through several capitals in Europe and forms the natural border of ten nations. In Serbia, the Danube leaves traces of wild nature, history, and culture, culminating in the Djerdap National Park, where the imponent Golubac Fortress stands out.
The medieval fortress is located on the first stretch of the Danube River, known as Iron Gate or Djerdap Gorge. With an imposing architecture that complements the rugged geology that surrounds it, Golubac Fortress is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful monuments along the Danube.
The promotional video “Golubac Fortress - Ancient Guardian of the Iron Gate” reflects its atmosphere of mystery and adventure. The aerial images from different angles show Serbia's best-preserved forts and its mystical towers, which resemble a true fairy tale.
Over the centuries, the fortress has been the stage of several battles and nowadays is one important cultural attraction that receives thousands of tourists per year, coming from the road or on cruises and boat trips across the Danube.
The Golubac Fortress is a Cultural Property of Exceptional Importance, protected by the Republic of Serbia. As can be seen in the video, visiting the fortress is a real journey through history.
At the Grand Prix CIFFT Circuit 2020, a competition that brings together the World's Best Tourism Film Festivals, the video received international awards in The Golden City Gate (ITB), New York Festivals, ITFF Bulgaria, US International Film & Video Festival, Silafest, Zagreb TourFilm Festival, and FILMAT Poland. The film also achieved the 5th position at CIFFT Rank List in the Tourism Products Category.
