The 7th edition of the Japan World's Tourism Film Festival (JWTFF) will take place from March 17 to 19, 2025, in the city of Maniwa, Japan. In previous editions, the festival has traveled to various locations, including Lake Akan, Shiga, Yoron Island, and Kyoto, uniting filmmakers, tourism professionals, and industry experts to celebrate excellence in tourism films.
JWTFF is dedicated to advancing tourism promotion through the art of filmmaking, recognizing creativity, originality, and impactful storytelling. The festival serves as a premier platform for visionary filmmakers to showcase their work while highlighting Japan’s rich and diverse tourism appeal and fostering meaningful cross-cultural exchange.
The selection of Maniwa as the host city underscores the festival’s commitment to promoting Japan’s varied landscapes and cultural heritage. Renowned for its breathtaking natural scenery, historical sites, and eco-tourism initiatives, Maniwa offers the perfect setting for an event that celebrates the power of visual storytelling in tourism. The event will welcome both national and international guests, featuring a dynamic program of film screenings, masterclasses, and a prestigious award ceremony.
As a member of the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT) since 2021, JWTFF provides a prestigious stage for filmmakers to gain international acclaim.
This edition marks the first stage of the CIFFT Circuit 2025, the global competition for tourism films that rewards the World’s Best Tourism Films of the Year. Over the years, the CIFFT Circuit has awarded major tourism brands such as Switzerland Tourism, Go Türkiye, Azerbaijan Airlines, Visit Qatar, Singapore Tourism Board, and Tourism Australia, among others.
