The ART&TUR - International Tourism Film Festival took place from October 22nd to 25th in Lousã, Portugal, honoring exceptional tourism videos from around the world. During the Award Ceremony on the 25th, 81 accolades were presented in both International and National competitions. Winners were celebrated with the festival’s iconic handcrafted Rooster trophies, a symbol of Portugal and the festival's spirit.
In the International Competition, the Grand Prix was awarded to “Grand Train Tour of Switzerland: The Ride of a Lifetime,” a production by Switzerland Tourism featuring global icons Roger Federer and comedian Trevor Noah. The video also secured the 1st Prize in the Tourism Products category.
On the national stage, the National Grand Prix was awarded to "Caldas da Rainha Magnificent," a video promoting the Portuguese Municipality of Caldas da Rainha. Produced by the Brazilian crew Eureka Films during the ART&FACTORY competition at the ART&TUR 2023, the video also received the Best Promotional Video and 1st Prize in Tourism Destination Cities in the International Competition.
The festival recognized excellence across a wide range of categories, including Tourism Destination Cities, Regions, Countries, Tourism Products, Tourism Services, Culture & Heritage, Independent Travel Videos, and Sustainable Tourism, among others. This year, ART&TUR received entries from 43 countries, further solidifying its global prestige.
In addition to the awards, ART&TUR fostered a sense of community among tourism enthusiasts, filmmakers, industry professionals, and students from around the world. For four days, Lousã has become the main stage for insightful discussions on audiovisual production, tourism, and sustainability, with round tables, master classes, and film screenings.
A festival highlight was the ART&FACTORY competition, where international teams took on the challenge of producing a promotional video about the host city Lousã during the event days. The video "Lousã - How did I get here," created by young creators from Italy and Morocco, secured the coveted award.
Organized by the Center of Portugal Film Commission and the Tourism Center of Portugal, with the support of the Lousã Municipality, the ART&TUR - International Tourism Film Festival remains a key platform for celebrating the art of tourism filmmaking and storytelling.
Since 2008, the festival has been a member of the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT) and part of the CIFFT Circuit, the global competition which annually recognizes the World’s Best Tourism Films.
