Girona, November 10th, 2024 - The Terres CHECK-IN International Hospitality Film Awards 2024 concluded with great success on October 10thin Platja d'Aro, Girona, Spain. This year’s edition celebrated creativity and innovation in hospitality marketing, rewarding the industry’s best audiovisual campaigns.
Held at the Castell d’Aro Town Hall, the event gathered leading professionals and creatives, positioning the festival as a key platform for exchanging ideas and trends within the global tourism and hospitality sectors.
Hosted by Marina Duran, actress and presenter, the event included insightful sessions such as “Filming for Hilton: A Dual Perspective” by Ginestra Marucci from Wow Tapes, and “Empathetic Communication: Brand Values through Stories that Matter”, a discussion featuring the filmmakers Denis Delestrac, Jordi Esgleas, and creative director Jordi Munells.
The spotlight of the evening was the Award Ceremony, where the piece "Volem la pilota" which starts from the presentation of the commemorative shirt of the 125th anniversary of Futbol Club Barcelona to highlight the Catalanness and universality of the club, earned the Late CHECK-OUT Award. Through a video of appreciation, the president of Futbol Club Barcelona, Joan Laporta, reinforced that "We want to transmit the Barça brand around the world, explaining the unique values that identify us as a club, and this is what we work on and promote from the identity area."
The production "Hamad International Airport Campaign" from Qatar was acclaimed with the Fast CHECK-IN Award for its outstanding promotional video. Another standout, "Celebrating Freedom Inside from Spain", received the Social CHECK-IN Award.
In addition to the major accolades, several productions received Gold Awards in categories such as Transport, Hospitality, Gastronomy, Leisure, and Technology. Notable achievements were also recognized with Silver Awards in Passenger Transport Services, Accommodation, IT, Museums, Railway Services, Restaurants, and Tourist Information, highlighting the diversity and creativity of the entries. Special recognition went to Amfitions and Costa Brava-Girona with Special Awards, and additional Special Mentions were given for outstanding contributions to tourism services.
The event concluded with a cocktail dinner at the Hotel Costa Brava, where attendees had the opportunity to celebrate and network, further strengthening the links between hospitality professionals and creative talent.
The Terres CHECK-IN International Hospitality Film Awards is a joint initiative of Terres Landscape & Travel Communication and the Catalan foundations CETT, Climent Guitart, and Jordi Comas Matamala. In 2024, the event became an Associate Member of the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT). This partnership integrates the festival into the prestigious CIFFT Circuit, a global competition that ranks the best tourism films and campaigns.
Winners of the Terres CHECK-IN 2024 will now score points in the Tourism Services category of the CIFFT Rankings, with the potential to claim the title of World’s Best Tourism Films of the Year.
