Zagreb, Croatia – October 4th, 2024 – The Zagreb TourFilm Festival celebrated this year's winners, a diverse selection of the most captivating and innovative tourism videos and campaigns from across the globe. This annual event brings together filmmakers, industry leaders, and enthusiasts to honor the very best in tourism filmmaking and storytelling.
The coveted Grand Prix award went to “Make Your Own Movie” (Croatia), a remarkable film that earned both the top spot in the Tourist Destination Region category and widespread praise for its creativity and compelling narrative.
In the highly competitive Tourism Destination City category, "So, the Story Begins" (Japan) won 1st prize, followed by "Wroclaw: City of Adventure" (Poland) with the 2nd prize, and "Operation 4" (Croatia) securing the 3rd prize.
The Tourist Destination Region category also honored "To be Albertan" (Canada) with the 2nd prize, while "For Sure, They are from the North" (Portugal) took home the 3rd prize.
In the Tourist Destination Country category, "Tourism in South Africa with Trevor Noah" (South Africa) claimed the 1st prize. "Peru Wow" (Peru) earned the 2nd prize, and "Sustainable Türkiye" (Türkiye) was awarded the 3rd prize.
The festival also recognized the best in Tourism Products, with "Grand Train Tour of Switzerland: The Ride of a Lifetime" (Switzerland) taking the 1st prize. "Sky Painter" (Canada) came in with the 2nd prize, and "Akan Soul" (Japan) secured the 3rd prize.
Excellence in Tourism Services was highlighted as well, with "Hamad International Airport" (Qatar) winning the 1st prize. "NURI: The Fisherman’s Daughter" (Portugal) took the 2nd prize, and "Elena" (Croatia) was awarded the 3rd prize.
In the Tourism Communication category, the 1st prize went to "Far From The World – A Bleu Evasion Story" (France), followed by "We All Start Somewhere" (Croatia) with the 2nd prize, and "Come Find Your Virginia" (Italy) securing the 3rd prize.
In the category of TV Reportage and Documentary Film, "Hollows and Their Inhabitants" (Poland) won the 1st prize. The 2nd prize went to "500.Kostel’s Easter Holster" (Croatia), while "Oh The People You Meet with Michaela in Croatia” (USA) took the 3rd prize.
The Zagreb TourFilm Festival remains a leading platform that celebrates the powerful intersection of tourism and film. Since 2013, the festival has been a proud member of the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT) and is part of the CIFFT Circuit, a prestigious global competition for tourism films. The circuit will culminate at the World Tourism Film Awards, held in Valencia, Spain, this November, where the World’s Best Tourism Films of the Year will be awarded.
