The Amorgos International Tourism Film Festival, together with the Amorgos Women's Cultural Association, the island of Amorgos, and the Amorgos Film Club, proudly welcomed the premier Drama Short Film Festival from February 24 to 25, 2023.

The event featured a selection of award-winning films from the Drama Festival of 2020-21 and 2022, revealing great filmmakers and highlighting the exceptional quality of contemporary Greek cinema. It also addressed discussions on audiovisual production and important issues concerning current times.

Mr. Thanasis Neofotistos, an important director and head of the International Student Program of the Drama Festival, was present at the screenings.

By hosting Film Festivals, Amorgos intends to attract more filmmakers and industry professionals to the island, positioning itself as an important stage in the Audiovisual Industry. Additionally, it helps to promote Amorgos as a unique and culturally rich destination, encouraging more visitors to explore the island and its many attractions.

The Amorgos Film Festival, organized for the 14th consecutive year by the Amorgos Women's Cultural Association, will take place from November 12 to 17, 2023.

About the Amorgos Tourism Film Festival

The Amorgos International Film Festival is an annual five-day event co-organized by the Amorgos Cultural Women Association, The District of South and the Municipality of Amorgos. It launched in 2010 during the 8th International Convention on Culture and Tourism “YPERIA” and has been held continuously ever since, on an annual basis. Every year it presents the elite of short films and documentaries. Since 2017, the Festival has been a member of the International Committee of Film Festivals (CIFFT).
