The International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT) has revealed its 2021 World’s Tourism Film Awards will be broadcast on December 3rd from Valencia, Spain, a city at the forefront of innovation and creativity in tourism.
This edition marks the first time, in 33 years, that the World’s Tourism Film Awards took place outside its hometown Vienna (Austria), and Valencia stood out as the perfect destination to host the most prestigious award initiative for Travel Video Marketing.
The city has been named the European Capital of Smart Tourism for 2022 by the European Commission, and the World Design Capital for 2022, by the World Design Organization (WDO).
“València is working intensely to position itself as an urban, cosmopolitan and authentic destination. We are working to promote the city through a very attractive audiovisual content, which allows us to clearly identify our most identity traits.”, highlighted Emiliano García, Councilor for Tourism and International of the Valencia City Council and president of Visit València. Thus, the city of Valencia has received six international awards this year for its video “Valencia, destination of the Holy Grail”.
The “Tourism Oscars” will be revealed by the CIFFT Director, Alexander V. Kammel, in emblematic places of Valencia, where historical, artistic and cultural wealth are spread across architectural spaces ranging from Gothic to the most modern trends in architecture.
For Alexander V. Kammel, CIFFT Director, “It has been a real honour to bring the World’s Tourism Film Awards to Valencia and celebrate the best of audiovisual communication in this wonderful city. It is definitely an important milestone in CIFFT’s history.”, said.
To achieve the highest recognition for Travel Video Marketing, the title of World’s Best Tourism Film, more than 3300 tourism videos from more than 90 countries competed in the tourism film festivals that integrate the CIFFT Circuit 2021.
