The official list of the 16th FilmAT Festival winners was released on October 17th from Warsaw, Poland. This year's edition featured 116 films from 20 countries, competing in the main categories Tourism Communication, Corporate & Institutional Films, Documentaries & TV Reports and International Tourfilm Academy Awards.
The promotional video “Chasing Lines”, produced by Sledgehammer Studio for Wesgro (South Africa), was acclaimed by the Jury with the Grand Prix Tourism – International Competition.
“Chasing Lines”, which also achieved the 1st Prize in Tourism Destination Regions category, explores the Western Cape, its places, and its people. It positions adventure not simply as a journey of extremes, but as an immersion of one’s self in the cultures of others, of uncovering the stories of a place and the people that live there.
“Northen Kashubia – everyone will fall in love with something here”, from LOT North Kashubia (Poland) received the Grand Prix Tourism – National Competition. In total, were awarded 28 productions in Tourism Communication categories such as Tourism Destinations City, Region, Country, Tourism Services, Tourism Products, Independent Travel Videos and Special Awards.
The FilmAT Festival’s Jury is formed by renowned professionals with audiovisual production, marketing, and tourism expertise. As president of the International Jury is Zbigniew Żmudzki, a polish producer of many worldwide awarded animated films, including the Oscar achieved in 2008.
The production “Cyprus. From A Greener Point of View” by the Cyprus Ministry of Tourism was honoured with the Special Award in Tourism Communication from Zbigniew Żmudzki – President of the International Jury of 16th FilmAT Festival.
“Ustka – become the master of leisure”, produced by MoonPhaseStudio, for the Municipality of Ustka (Poland), received the Special Award in Tourism Communication from Ewa Kotus – Director of FilmAT Festival.
Since 2007, the FilmAT Festival has been an official member of the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT), which brings together the World’s Best Tourism Film Festivals from four continents at the most prestigious awards and recognition initiative in the Travel Video Marketing Industry – the CIFFT Circuit.
