The winners of the 21st edition of The Golden City Gate have been revealed on Tuesday evening in Berlin. A panel of judges, including experts in Tourism, Marketing and Audiovisual Industries, chosen the best audiovisual productions of this year competition among 121 submissions from 21 countries. Notable tourism brands, creative agencies and filmmakers were awarded.
Due to the excellent quality of the videos submitted, the Jury had the most difficult task in choosing the festival's Grand Prix. For the first time, two videos were awarded with the Diamond Award.
The German video "#Discover Germany from home” produced for Deutsche Zentrale für Tourismus e.V. was chosen to receive the Diamond Award in the National Competition.
In the International Competition, the Australian film "Seek Different" produced by KWP! and Zoom Film TV for Tourism Northern Territory received the distinction of the festival's best film with the Diamond Award.
In the International Competition, Portugal was the country that achieved the highest number of awards (8), followed by Austria (6), Slovenia (4), Spain (4), Croatia (3), Dominican Republic (2), Greece (2), and Lithuania (2), among others.
Criteria such as concept, creativity, message, design and visual performance were considered by the international jury.
Since 2001, The Golden City Gate occurs during ITB Berlin, The World's Leading Travel Trade Show, as an international tourism film and multimedia competition.
The Golden City Gate's success reflects the quality and competitiveness that can be found in the following international stages of the World's Best Tourism Film Awards, promoted by the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT).
The World's Best Tourism Film Awards is an annual competition in the format of "Championship" or "League", among 13 tourism film festivals from four continents. In November, CIFFT will announce the best travel videos of the year in Vienna, Austria.
